OBVIOUSLY!!! But for any one who is wondering we had a beautiful baby girl on Feb 27th 2010. Callie McKenzie came right on her due date! We are too busy loving her to pieces and we have had a lot of changes in the past few months. In addition to a new baby, we sold our house and closed just a week before Callie was born. We are now in the process of moving to South Carolina, building a new house, and finding new jobs. We are so so happy :-) Maybe I will get back to my blog when things calm down :-)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-349311765855049489.post-82127443104729772292009-10-11T09:04:00.000-07:002009-10-11T09:14:26.117-07:00The Half Way Point<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiquC9R6yfemljpBhx5b-bTEil5u14Png5DkW0e5ZtGt_LQf4GejJmLVwzZQar4Q5cqOHd3fwp1AID5Yvb7KjjolwMysqxKyTA3Hv38ZtXIsYOQKBQReqNJsia1ITrHRs8MhsaNjWo7YV3f/s1600-h/photo-9.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiquC9R6yfemljpBhx5b-bTEil5u14Png5DkW0e5ZtGt_LQf4GejJmLVwzZQar4Q5cqOHd3fwp1AID5Yvb7KjjolwMysqxKyTA3Hv38ZtXIsYOQKBQReqNJsia1ITrHRs8MhsaNjWo7YV3f/s320/photo-9.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5391376499799124146" /></a><br /><br />Today is October 11th and I am officially half way done with this pregnancy :-) I keep hearing good things about 20 weeks but I am still sick. The doctor said if I am still sick now I will likely be sick the entire time. I really hope that's not the case though. Here is the official update:<br /><br />* How far along?: 20 weeks<br />* Due date?: Feb 27, 2010<br />* Total weight gain: I still weigh less than I did when I got pregnant so no weight gain<br />* How big is baby?: About the size of a cantaloupe<br />* Will you find out the sex of the baby? We still haven't decided if we want to find out but we both think it's a boy. Our ultrasound to find out will be Oct 29.<br /><br />* Movement?: Yes! I started feeling the baby move around 16 weeks.<br />* Food cravings?: I have been craving bloody mary mix, and I still like ranch dressingUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-349311765855049489.post-34053852890821688912009-09-27T20:49:00.000-07:002009-09-27T21:12:10.749-07:00Flooding in GeorgiaIn case you haven't heard, Georgia has gotten some rain. Make that, A LOT of rain! I honestly feel like it has rained for almost a month straight. And if I have to hear one more person say "oh but we NEED that rain"... let me correct you we, NEEDED the rain. I think we are good on the rain. Last weekend some parts of Georgia received 15inches of rain on Sunday alone which resulted in massive flooding. While I was in the hospital Miles was at our house playing Water Ranger, trying to keep things from being overtaken by the water. The water on the street our complex is off was WAIST HIGH on Miles and he had to wade through it several times because it was too deep to drive the car through. We did get some water in the house and Miles stayed up until 3:30AM and used all the towels we have (which was about 20 towels, who knew we had so many) to try to keep the water contained. We do have some damage to the wood floors which is disappointing since we worked really hard putting them in ourselves last summer and the house is on the market. We haven't decided if they are bad enough to try to replace yet. All in all we were very fortunate not the have more damage. Several houses in the complex had extensive damage including the home next to ours which has gutted half of their first floor. Here are some pictures other people have taken of the flooding. <div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); "><a href="http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=36525015&id=12806046" id="myphotolink" style="cursor: pointer; color: rgb(59, 89, 152); text-decoration: none; "><img src="http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs238.snc1/8523_635008450939_12806046_36525015_225532_n.jpg" id="myphoto" style="border-top-width: 1px; border-right-width: 1px; border-bottom-width: 1px; border-left-width: 1px; border-style: initial; border-color: initial; border-top-style: solid; border-right-style: solid; border-bottom-style: solid; border-left-style: solid; border-top-color: rgb(221, 221, 221); border-right-color: rgb(221, 221, 221); border-bottom-color: rgb(221, 221, 221); border-left-color: rgb(221, 221, 221); margin-top: 10px; margin-right: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 10px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); cursor: pointer; " /></a></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"> This is the driveway to a walking trail near our house</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 10px; color: rgb(102, 102, 102); line-height: 18px; "><img height="339" width="512" alt="" src="http://image3.examiner.com/images/blog/EXID555/images/road_out_john_basemore.jpg" style="border-top-width: 0px; padding-right: 5px; padding-left: 5px; border-left-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-bottom: 5px; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 5px; border-right-width: 0px; " /></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, Verdana, sans-serif;font-size:85%;color:#666666;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 10px; line-height: 18px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: normal; ">A road destroyed by water</span></span></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; color: rgb(255, 255, 255); "><img src="http://14.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_kqcaooEsIZ1qz8uh4o1_500.jpg" alt="Atlanta is flooding! Just achy and nauseous and tired. Well all those feelings were soon replaced by an incredible pain in my abdomen. Unfortunately as the pain got worse so did the weather. In case you hadn't heard it's been raining here in Georgia for practically the last month. I finally gave in and decided to go to the Emergency Room. When you work 40 hours a week in the hospital, you have to feel REALLY bad to go to the hospital when you aren't at work. It took us almost an hour to get to the hospital because of the rain and flooding and there were trees down everywhere. The ER took forever as usual and they didn't have much information for me. They would do an ultrasound and make sure the baby was ok as well as some blood work and a few other tests. The good news is the baby is doing well. It looks so much bigger than the last time we had an ultrasound at only 10 weeks. Also even though we aren't sure we want to find out, they looked and looked to see if they could tell if baby Majure is a girl or boy and I felt to lousy to argue. No luck for all you curious folks, the baby would not cooperate. I think not cooperating is this baby's theme. So if they baby looks good, what is causing all this pain??? They were worried it might be my appendix! They decided to keep me overnight to monitor me but let me go home the next morning. Their grand diagnosis?? Round ligament pain. It's hard for me to believe that ligaments could be causing me so much pain but the doctor told me it would feel kind of like I had pulled all the ligaments in my pelvis. That's about right. It's been about a week and I'm feeling much better. The morning sickness is still hanging on however. I am really looking forward to feeling "normal" again. I hope it doesn't take until February for that.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-349311765855049489.post-84683365080336897252009-09-20T09:54:00.000-07:002009-09-20T10:04:22.492-07:00Who Knows Half Your LifeWho knows half your life? Maybe you've never thought about it but you've probably done it. Here's an example. Maybe there is someone you are close to at work. Their life in pretty interesting and you talk about them to your best friend who lives in Las Vegas. As time goes by your Las Vegas friend knows more and more about your work friend... who she's dating, what he does, where they met, what she likes to do in her spare time, that she's now engaged and that her wedding will be in her home town and she's having 8 bridesmaids. All of a sudden this person who she's never met in Las Vegas knows half her life. So have you ever wondered about the people out there who know half your life?Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-349311765855049489.post-77224242473529883332009-09-04T18:56:00.000-07:002009-09-04T19:27:58.463-07:00Morning Sickness UGH!<div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>By far the worst part of the pregnancy so far has been the morning sickness. Right now I am going into my 15th week (about 3 1/2 months for those who don't count in weeks) and I have already lost about 10 pounds! They really don't like you to lose any weight while you are pregnant. They finally called me in a prescription for Zofran, an anti nausea medication to help with the morning sickness. Honestly, I don't know why they don't just write you a prescription for Zofran as soon as you tell them you are pregnant. The medicine has been really helpful and Zofran is in the safest category of pregnancy medications. When I asked the nurse about it she said "well it can have some side effects, it can make you tired". Really?? I'm throwing up in the parking lot on the way to work and you are worried about me being tired??? Anyway now that I am in my second trimester I am really hoping to start feeling better, I think I may be turing that corner.<div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 312px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-dE4lZzq2g4qiVqZiOVWwsEyldRffAPZxpSDWhTfdkkwNJU1szbvTW9Dk8WqGijehLd_p7fKelLZQBvjs4ho8_3-TCqlIRopQM_cLa2Fq7MrPT-cIZUAymEfcf3lDf4hpclCZtwkOeDFC/s320/Tombstone_pizza.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5377804089789616114" /></div><div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I haven't really been eating much but here is what I started craving this week.</div><div style="text-align: center;"> That's right! We found out that we were pregnant in June the day before father's day. Right now I am almost 15 weeks and safely in my second trimester. I am really looking forward to the end of this morning sickness. We have had two ultrasounds and today we got to hear the heartbeat for the first time. So far everything is looking good and we are hoping for a healthy pregnancy and baby.<div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial;"><br /></span><div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:medium;"><b><i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'times new roman';">Stats So Far</span></i></b></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" border-collapse: collapse; My biggest problem is I always want to put pictures up with my posts and I have a hard time coordinating taking the pictures, getting them uploaded on the computer, and then writing the post. If I don't forget the camera, by the time the pictures are uploaded it's been about 3 months. So here's to a new start and hopefully lots of posts to come!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-349311765855049489.post-58861591074002700762009-01-03T15:19:00.001-08:002009-01-03T15:52:12.255-08:00You Know I Like My Chicken Fried...<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwU4PWq8g5DufIvM3qDtKOmIL9mYodcGl9DIwb3YMLjUKHSJ4-Jar2JVIv5PGkmyjtAp8ASWip5xY2WiiX6IXSrQchxcdcQm064ehrdRvi93CJ4oXG_2Qp7BXt6y8rPOrB6flGXiPXUIVv/s1600-h/ZacBrownBand.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 313px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwU4PWq8g5DufIvM3qDtKOmIL9mYodcGl9DIwb3YMLjUKHSJ4-Jar2JVIv5PGkmyjtAp8ASWip5xY2WiiX6IXSrQchxcdcQm064ehrdRvi93CJ4oXG_2Qp7BXt6y8rPOrB6flGXiPXUIVv/s320/ZacBrownBand.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287217999211153010" /></a><br /><br /><br />Last night we went to Wild Bills one of the big country bars in town to see the Zac Brown Band. I LOVE the Zac Brown Band. I have been seeing them play for about three years now. The first time I saw them, they were playing in a very small restaurant about an hour away from Atlanta. I liked their music immediatly and bought their CD that night. I found out a few months later that Zac played at a bar in Atlanta on Thursday nights and got a group together to see him play. EVERYONE thought he was great. After that we saw Zac as often as we could. I guess I'm not the only one who liked him because as time went on the band started traveling more and more. The band started touring and was opening for big names like Sugar Land. We saw him whenever possible, and even saw him this summer in South Carolina and Alabama. Recently his hit song "Chicken Fried" toped the country charts at #1!!! It is so fun to see him getting so popular. After I got off work yesterday I was heading towards my friend Carrie's so we could do our weekly volunteer work with the Adopt a Kitties. I pulled out of the parking deck at work and drove a couple of miles down the road. All of a sudden my car alarm started going off...WHILE I WAS DRIVING! I pulled off the road onto a side street but as soon as I did the car alarm stopped. Lovely. I pulled back on the road and got on the highway and the car alarm started going off AGAIN! Then again and again. I called Miles and was trying to figure out what to do. To be honest I was worried somebody would shoot me cause they thought I was honking non stop at them. The car is continuing to honk and I can't hear Miles over the horn so I decided to pull off to the side of the road and try to turn the car off and then restart it. For anyone who doesn't know, this is apparently NOT the correct thing to do. My car died on the side of the highway! I tried and tried but I could not get the car to start. My car is a 2004 Toyota Rav-4 and I couldn't believe it stranded me on the side of the road like that. I later found of that if the car alarm is going off, the car won't drive as a safety mechanism to prevent the car from being stolen. Miles had to come rescue me on the side of the interstate and we had to get the car towed to the Toyota dealership. I knew the tow truck would take a while to get to us and Carrie and I had to get to Pet Smart before the store closed to take care of the kitties, so I called and asked her if she could come get me. In her hurry to rescue me however she got pulled over!!! Thankfully the cop let her go with only a warning after she told him she was hurrying to rescue her friend who was stranded on the side of the road. We were able to get the car towed and get to the adopt a kitties on time before the stored closed. As if that wasn't enough excitement for the day, Miles, Carrie and I went out to eat later that evening and then went to a small bar to hear a band play. I didn't drink at all because I know the cops are always out on New Years Eve as we saw earlier in the day. We left the bar at about 11:15 to beat all the drunks home. I was driving Miles car, our new Honda Pilot that is only about a month old. We were almost home when I GOT PULLED OVER!!! I wasn't even speeding at all and definitely had not been drinking. Apprently I since I am not to familiar with the new car I only had my front lights on and not my tail lights, which is why I got pulled over. The police man let me go after telling me to turn my lights on and be careful. We finally made it home safe and sound and enjoyed welcoming in the New Year while playing Mario Kart Wii on the couch. What a crazy way to end 2008!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-349311765855049489.post-32585325196853442662008-12-28T11:23:00.000-08:002008-12-28T12:00:35.543-08:00Christmas 2008We had a wonderful Christmas this year, and now that we are married, we got to have TWO fantastic Christmas celebrations. The first Christmas was with Miles family. We stayed with his parents for the week leading up to Christmas at their house on the Georgia cost and celebrated with them on Christmas day. We spent the week relaxing, bike riding, fishing, and enjoying not being at work. The weather is notoriously bad whenever we visit his parents and it is almost never good for fishing, but this time we had pretty good weather. I even caught 3 trout :-) Christmas day was a lot of fun. Miles gave me a new camera that I am really excited to start using. His parents also gave us Cirque Du Sole tickets for the show that is coming to Atlanta. We can't wait to go! Miles got a GPS for our new Honda Pilot that he likes to talk back to which makes me laugh. This past weekend we celebrated Christmas with my family. My brother Dan and his girlfriend Cara were in town from New York. My parents gave me some new purple luggage that I had asked for. As always my mom made her famous waffles for brunch. It was really nice getting to see all of our families. Christmas is always a really fun time for me. I could get used to this double Christmas thing...<div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 113px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgks7Lws7wsONLrgsuI1tQT6gsNUSBJMcROTymDvE-rH2kOjro9d5tYCF-UqjwF4-NajchkXlFB1_UktOtBP64ZFimU15t6UO5cQeWp41cfftfJMOyVsICWTu95168MFCQO4ouaOQZ1E8hb/s400/tn.jpeg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5284932556800333282" />The ginger bread Christmas Tree we made Christmas Eve</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdxXyh3_4-79AT-E5EQnnWM3l_si4uyMRrlmp5bIbTT8JdwcDxotbOXYBVWOIcF66Ne582w3yT7JdV3beLbRLiVDoPRbdn1pIUrLKK4frTikQOf9jyE9wcCCCOK4pAjNd2XsrKBwqLl6GG/s400/Picture+027.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5284930485208660562" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">On the back deck at Miles parents house</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisntYhMpqUu5jfAQztYkNLsFhu6S61RI2qKBWV8GN2stg1fHR1XZHi6p_ISgfSeBdbjbDZvTCxFmuYaOJSleQgSmRWLW5Kjx1X1nmwi1jCnvTIvMce6InQBSk5kCdG8j1k8IVBJi6IOVbw/s400/Picture+007.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5284929807402467938" /></div><div> </div><div style="text-align: center;"> Sharks I caught last time we were at his parents</div><div><br /></div><div><br /><div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div></div></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-349311765855049489.post-57899927722130406842008-12-28T11:09:00.000-08:002008-12-28T11:23:22.356-08:00The Reoccurring Dream EVERYONE HasI have a <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">reoccurring</span> dream that I recently researched on the internet to see if I could figure out the meaning. While I did not figure out exactly what the dream means, I DID find out that a TON of people have this dream. I was so surprised! I then told two of my best friends about the dream only to find out that they ALSO have the dream! I mentioned it at Christmas and found out that my Dad still has this dream. How crazy! Ok I am sure you are dying to know so here is the dream... You are in high school or college and you are about to graduate. The only problem is there is a class you haven't been to all semester. You need this class to graduate! It is only about two weeks until the final and there is no way you can make up all the work you missed. Worst of all you aren't even sure why you have been missing the class. It is usually some confusion about when or where the class was. You spend the whole dream trying to figure out what to do and how to pass the class. It is a pretty stressful dream. I am sure it has something to do with a fear of failure or something. Are you one of the many people who has this dream? I hate how hot you get, I hate how long it takes, I hate the whole thing. I always joke that <em>when</em> I win the lottery I am putting a large freezer in my bathroom to dry my hair in. Or maybe if I actually win the lottery I will just pay someone to dry my hair for me. Anyway, after searching and trying several different brands, I have found what I have affectionately dubbed "The Best Hair Dryer EVER!", pictured above. It's fast, it's powerful, it doesn't make you hot, and it will change your life. Best of all it's only $25! My mom has one, my roommates from college have all gotten one, my friends from here have one, even my relatives in New York have one. HOWEVER, my best hair dryer in the world has DIED and I found out it is no longer available! I have been searching for a replacement and have found one that is <em>almost </em>as good by the same company. It is a Remington T-Studio Pink Tourmaline Dryer pictured below. To all the faithful users of the "The Best Hair Dryer EVER", try the pink tourmaline, and it you have any other suggestions for a great hair dryer under $50 let me know. </div><br /><br /><br /><div></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5281578434947816402" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 280px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 280px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7nu0LIqgKTmMItL_4ZufQ0ftduY27ysrZnwvVCF_CZXF1yoo2J72A1Hrag41ftFLas-f-NZ7xp1Bbr8sxHRXQQZkWmuXlZFv3qCqlb1US3UAHpQipisk1kc7Z36CpEd56I2hlp9mHdQPK/s320/new+hair+dryer.gif" border="0" /><br /><br /><div><a onclick="return amz_js_PopWin(this.href,'AmazonHelp','width=700,height=600,resizable=1,scrollbars=1,toolbar=0,status=1');" href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/B0000C88FU/ref=dp_image_0?ie=UTF8&n=3760901&s=hpc" target="AmazonHelp"></a></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-349311765855049489.post-46023174163059900592008-12-15T17:19:00.000-08:002008-12-15T17:44:09.241-08:00First Things FirstI decided tonight to start my own blog after enjoying the blogs of so many of my friends. It seems like a great way to stay in touch with family and friends and and keep them updated on what is going on. I would like to start by warning you that I am not spell checking any of my posts. I can't spell, as many of you know, and I will consider any spelling errors as a display of character. Also, I will try to take and post as many pictures as possible. I think pictures make blogs more fun. Hopefully Santa will be bringing me a new camera for Christmas! I titled my blog A Real Fine Place To Start for several reasons. First, it is the title of a wonderful country song. Second, this is my first year of marriage to my wonderful husband Miles. Finally, I feel like no matter where you are in life there are always new beginnings and it seems like the beginnings are the defining. I hope you enjoy! Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
