Christmas 2008

We had a wonderful Christmas this year, and now that we are married, we got to have  TWO fantastic Christmas celebrations.  The first Christmas was with Miles family.  We stayed with his parents for the week leading up to Christmas at their house on the Georgia cost and celebrated with them on Christmas day.  We spent the week relaxing, bike riding, fishing, and enjoying not being at work.  The weather is notoriously bad whenever we visit his parents and it is almost never good for fishing, but this time we had pretty good weather.  I even caught 3 trout :-)  Christmas day was a lot of fun.  Miles gave me a new camera that I am really excited to start using.  His parents also gave us Cirque Du Sole tickets for the show that is coming to Atlanta.  We can't wait to go!  Miles got a GPS for our new Honda Pilot that he likes to talk back to which makes me laugh.  This past weekend we celebrated Christmas with my family.  My brother Dan and his girlfriend Cara were in town from New York.  My parents gave me some new purple luggage that I had asked for.  As always my mom made her famous waffles for brunch.  It was really nice getting to see all of our families.  Christmas is always a really fun time for me.  I could get used to this double Christmas thing...

The Reoccurring Dream EVERYONE Has

I have a reoccurring dream that I recently researched on the internet to see if I could figure out the meaning.  While I did not figure out exactly what the dream means, I DID find out that a TON of people have this dream.  I was so surprised!  I then told two of my best friends about the dream only to find out that they ALSO have the dream!  I mentioned it at Christmas and found out that my Dad still has this dream.  How crazy!  Ok I am sure you are dying to know so here is the dream...  You are in high school or college and you are about to graduate.  The only problem is there is a class you haven't been to all semester.  You need this class to graduate!  It is only about two weeks until the final and there is no way you can make up all the work you missed.  Worst of all you aren't even sure why you have been missing the class.  It is usually some confusion about when or where the class was.  You spend the whole dream trying to figure out what to do and how to pass the class.  It is a pretty stressful dream.  I am sure it has something to do with a fear of failure or something.  Are you one of the many people who has this dream?

The Best Hair Dryer EVER!

I hate drying my hair. I hate how hot you get, I hate how long it takes, I hate the whole thing. I always joke that when I win the lottery I am putting a large freezer in my bathroom to dry my hair in. Or maybe if I actually win the lottery I will just pay someone to dry my hair for me. Anyway, after searching and trying several different brands, I have found what I have affectionately dubbed "The Best Hair Dryer EVER!", pictured above. It's fast, it's powerful, it doesn't make you hot, and it will change your life. Best of all it's only $25! My mom has one, my roommates from college have all gotten one, my friends from here have one, even my relatives in New York have one. HOWEVER, my best hair dryer in the world has DIED and I found out it is no longer available! I have been searching for a replacement and have found one that is almost as good by the same company. It is a Remington T-Studio Pink Tourmaline Dryer pictured below. To all the faithful users of the "The Best Hair Dryer EVER", try the pink tourmaline, and it you have any other suggestions for a great hair dryer under $50 let me know.

First Things First

I decided tonight to start my own blog after enjoying the blogs of so many of my friends.  It seems like a great way to stay in touch with family and friends and and keep them updated on what is going on.  I would like to start by warning you that I am not spell checking any of my posts.  I can't spell, as many of you know, and I will consider any spelling errors as a display of character.  Also, I will try to take and post as many pictures as possible.  I think pictures make blogs more fun.  Hopefully Santa will be bringing me a new camera for Christmas!  I titled my blog A Real Fine Place To Start for several reasons.  First, it is the title of a wonderful country song.  Second, this is my first year of marriage to my wonderful husband Miles.  Finally, I feel like no matter where you are in life there are always new beginnings and it seems like the beginnings are the defining.  I hope you enjoy!
